Frequently Asked Questions
Find clear answers about our B2B research, matchmaking, company qualification, introductions and international trade support services.
Matchmaking & Services
Understand how Trade Expedition identifies and connects potentially relevant businesses.
01 What does Trade Expedition mean by B2B matchmaking?
B2B matchmaking means identifying potentially relevant buyers, suppliers, distributors, manufacturers or other business partners according to a defined commercial requirement and facilitating an introduction where appropriate.
02 Do you only work with trade-show exhibitors?
No. Trade exhibitions are an important source of business research, but relevant companies can also be identified through company research, trade associations, directories, market research and other sources.
03 Can a company be both a buyer and a supplier?
Yes. A company may manufacture certain products while purchasing, importing or distributing other products. We therefore assess the company's role in the context of the specific requirement.
04 Does Trade Expedition sell products?
Trade Expedition primarily provides B2B research, matchmaking, introductions, trade-show support and trade-delegation services. Commercial transactions are conducted by the relevant businesses.
Sourcing & Connections
Learn how we research buyers, distributors, manufacturers and potential business partners.
05 Can you find buyers in a specific country?
Yes. Research can be targeted by country, industry, product, buyer category and other relevant criteria.
06 Can you find distributors?
Yes. Distributor research can be based on product category, market, geographical coverage, customer segments and other requirements.
07 Can you find manufacturers?
Yes. Manufacturer research can consider product category, capabilities, market requirements, OEM/private-label requirements and other relevant criteria.
08 Can you arrange B2B meetings?
Where a suitable company is identified and, where applicable, interest is established, Trade Expedition can facilitate B2B introductions or meetings.
09 How long does matchmaking take?
The timeframe depends on the product, market, complexity of the requirement, research scope and response from potential business partners.
10 How many companies will you provide?
The number depends on the scope of the assignment. Our focus is on relevant potential connections rather than a predetermined volume of names.
11 Will you provide contact information?
Where legally and operationally appropriate, we provide available business contact information relevant to the assignment.
Qualification & Due Diligence
Understand the meaning and scope of company qualification, document review and inspections.
12 Are suppliers verified?
We use defined qualification indicators rather than treating every company as automatically "verified." Depending on the assignment, we may review company information, product information, business role, capability, documentation, market relevance and interest.
13 What does "Company Information Reviewed" mean?
It means available company information has been reviewed as part of the assignment. It does not mean every aspect of the company's business has been independently audited.
14 What does "Interest Confirmed" mean?
It means the company has indicated an interest in discussing the relevant opportunity. Interest does not necessarily mean that the company has agreed to purchase, sell or enter into a contract.
15 Do you verify certifications?
Where relevant, we may review certifications or documents supplied by a company. Unless specifically stated otherwise, document review does not constitute an independent certification audit or authentication.
16 Do you conduct factory inspections?
Only where specifically included in the agreed scope of work or arranged through an appropriate third party.
17 Do you guarantee product quality?
No. Product quality should be assessed through appropriate samples, testing, inspections and other due-diligence procedures.
Commercial Terms & Privacy
Important information about business outcomes, confidentiality and responsibilities after introductions.
18 Does Trade Expedition guarantee a buyer or supplier?
No. We work to identify potentially relevant business connections, but the availability, interest and commercial suitability of companies can change. We do not guarantee that an identified company will place an order, supply products or enter into a contract.
19 Is the information confidential?
Trade Expedition handles information according to its applicable agreements, privacy practices and terms of service. Any specific confidentiality requirements should be agreed as part of the engagement.
20 What happens after you introduce us?
The participating companies continue discussions directly regarding pricing, samples, specifications, contracts, payment terms, compliance, shipping and other commercial matters.
21 Do you guarantee a successful transaction?
No. Business outcomes depend on many factors beyond the introduction, including product fit, pricing, capacity, timing, commercial terms and the decisions of the participating businesses.
